Prevent Duty
Every person has a part to play in protecting individuals from the risks of radicalisation. This course provides a clear understanding of the Prevent Duty, part of the UK government’s counter-terrorism strategy, and explains how it applies across education, childcare, health, and community settings. Learn how to identify early warning signs, make proportionate responses, and know when and how to share concerns with the appropriate authorities. Through practical examples and up-to-date guidance, you’ll develop confidence in promoting British values, encouraging open discussion, and creating safe, inclusive environments.
County Lines
County Lines activity can have devastating effects on children, young people, and vulnerable adults. This course raises awareness of criminal exploitation, helping professionals recognise the signs that someone may be at risk or involved in County Lines networks. This course provides essential awareness of what FGM is, how to recognise the signs and risk factors, and how to respond appropriately when concerns arise. You’ll learn about the legal framework, including the Female Genital Mutilation Act 2003 and the mandatory reporting duty for professionals, as well as how to handle disclosures sensitively and in line with safeguarding procedures. Through practical examples and clear guidance, the course builds confidence to protect girls and women from harm and to take action when needed. By the end of the course, you’ll understand your responsibilities in identifying, recording, and reporting FGM concerns safely and effectively.
British Values
Understanding and promoting British Values is a key part of creating inclusive, respectful, and safe learning environments. This course explores the four fundamental British Values — Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, and Mutual Respect and Tolerance — and how they can be embedded naturally into everyday practice. Learn practical ways to promote these values through play, discussion, and daily routines, while supporting children’s spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) development. The course also explains the link between British Values and the Prevent Duty, helping practitioners recognise how both work together to safeguard against radicalisation and extremism. By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence and strategies to model and promote positive values that prepare children and young people for life in modern Britain.
