This course has been designed to support Early Years Managers and Leaders in confidently preparing for inspections under the new Ofsted Early Years Inspection Framework, introduced for inspections from 2026 onwards. This short course supports early years staff to confidently manage packed lunches in line with EYFS safeguarding and welfare requirements, NHS healthy eating guidance, and food safety and allergen legislation. You will learn how to identify healthy and unhealthy packed lunch choices, recognise hidden risks, and take appropriate action when lunches do not meet policy requirements. The course places strong emphasis on allergen management, labelling expectations, nut-free settings, and choking prevention, ensuring children’s safety is always prioritised.
