Safer Sleeping Practices
This course explores how to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and create safe, comfortable sleeping environments for children. It follows EYFS and Lullaby Trust guidance to support early years practitioners in their duty of care.
Safer Eating Practices
This course provides practical guidance on safer eating routines, preparation and supervision. You will be able to:
- Identify common choking hazards for different age groups
- Implement safe meal and snack routines
- Adapt food preparation for different dietary needs
- Understand current guidance from EYFS and health agencies
- Respond appropriately to eating-related emergencies
The Teething Journey
Teething is a natural part of development — but it can be challenging for babies, families, and practitioners alike. This course explores the signs, stages, and strategies for supporting babies through teething, helping to reduce discomfort and maintain positive routines. Learn how to recognise teething symptoms, offer safe soothing solutions, and communicate effectively with parents and carers.
First Foods: A guide to baby weaning
Help babies take their first steps toward healthy, confident eating. This course explores the weaning journey — from first tastes and textures to balanced nutrition and safe feeding practices. Learn how to support families through this important stage, recognise developmental readiness, and create positive mealtime experiences that encourage independence and enjoyment of food. Aligned with EYFS guidance and current NHS recommendations, this course promotes a practical, child-led approach to introducing solids.
